About Us
The Gill Family
The Gill family has been farming and ranching in the Northwest since 1879. We know beef, and we know families. And we wouldn’t feed your family anything we wouldn’t feed our own.
That’s why we’re proud to offer delicious, healthy, nutrient-dense, pasture-raised , corn-finished beef shares for families in the greater Boise area, Ontario, the Palouse, and across the Pacific Northwest.
Our family’s roots run deep in Idaho. We care deeply about the people here and the land we steward, and it shows in how we raise our cattle. You can learn more about our safe and ethical beef practices here.
Ranching Heritage
Our story began when our ancestor Joseph Gill traveled west by train and wagon, arriving in Lewiston, Idaho in December of 1879. The family soon settled near Grangeville, where Gill Point — still known by that name today — was named after our family.
In the early 1900s, Clark Gill Sr. ventured into the rugged Salmon River country near Lucile, Idaho, building the ranch that still operates today. The 4th and 5th generations of the Gill family continue to run cattle there.
In 2021, the 6th generation — Drew and Clark Gill — expanded the family cattle operation to Ontario, Oregon, later launching Gill Meat Co. to bring our ranch-raised beef directly to families.
Today Drew and Clark ranch alongside their mom Joan. Drew & Caitlyn will soon be welcoming the 7th generation of the Gill family to the ranch.
We know beef. Our family has been raising it in the Northwest for nearly 140 years.
